Just six players from the class are from Mississippi. That means 18 out-of-state athletes are coming to play for the Rebels. Below is a map showing where all of the recruits are coming from, with the markers placed on where they went to high school. If you click on each marker, the recruit’s information will pop up.

The star breakdown for the class looks like this:

Five-Star Signees: 3

Four-Star Signees: 12

Three-Star Signees: 9

The Rebels’ 2016 class ranks in the top ten in the country across the four major recruiting sites:

ESPN: 4th (2015: 19th)

Scout: 5th (2015: 16th)

247Sports: 6th (2015: 17th)

Rivals: 7th (2015: 21st)

An increase in four or five-star prospects obviously is a big reason for the rise in rankings from last year. Using ratings from 247Sports, the Rebels had just seven players with at least a four-star rating in their 2015 recruiting class. All of them were four-star players.

In 2016, Ole Miss is bringing in 15 players rated at least four stars, including three with five-star ratings. The program had not gotten a five-star player since 2013, which was the famous recruiting class featuring four five-star players who just finished up their Rebel careers: Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil, Laquon Treadwell, and Tony Conner.
