NEWTON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The National Weather Service confirms an EF1 tornado with 110 miles per hour wind touched down in Newton County.
The tornado touched down west of Highway 15 and tracked northeast across Highway 15 and Highway 504. The tornado continued northeast across Shelby and Garvin roads.
It damaged a mobile home, two homes and destroyed two chicken houses.
Also, many trees and powerlines were snapped before it cleared out near Brand Road.
The tornadoes path length spanned 7.5 miles. The length of the tornado was about 150 yards.
