UPDATE: 2 teens arrested in armed carjacking investigation

Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department says the Springfield Circle carjacking is an isolated incident.

She also says it does not appear to be connected to the rash of carjackings in the area.

The safety advisory for women still stands.


JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Two teenagers are behind bars in connection to an armed carjacking.

Police arrested 18-year-old Deontae Paige and 19-year-old Gregory Hines.

The two teens were arrested Friday.

JPD tells us that a woman was getting out of her Tahoe on Springfield Circle when two people came up to her, demanding her keys. They took her SUV and left the scene.

An off-duty police officer spotted the Tahoe on Clinton Boulevard at the Burger King. Paige and Hines were inside the car. The two were arrested and charged with armed carjacking.

Police said more charges are possible. The investigation is ongoing.
