James Alderman

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A former Flora officer charged for sex crimes was sentenced Monday morning.

WJTV 12 learned in court that James Alderman will have to spend a total of eight years in prison followed by five years of probation. He received a 15-year-sentence with seven years suspended.

Alderman will have to pay almost  $10,450 back. He also must register as a sex offender.

He was charged back in July with three counts of gratification of lust. We’re told the three victims were between the ages of 3 to 5 years old.

Authorities said Alderman knew two of the children. His wife ran a daycare inside their Flora home. Authorities did not say if the victims attended the daycare.
