Man dies after shooting at Black Diamonds Club

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting at Black Diamonds Club that claimed the life of a man.

The shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, February, 20.

JPD officers responded due to reports of several shots being fired at the location.

JPD learned that an altercation between several people happened. JPD later learned one person had a gun and fired several shots at the club and the parking lot.

Dennis Evans, 36 and Sylvester Williams, 36 both were struck several times. They were transported to UMMC for with life-threatening injuries.

Williams was later pronounced dead at UMMC.

JPD believes Williams was not a part of the altercation or that he was a target.

This is an ongoing investigation.
