Mississippi votes to take away Planned Parenthood funding

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippi’s Senate voted to defund Planned Parenthood.

Senate Bill 2238 will stop funding to the largest organization in America that conducts abortions according to Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves.

The bill will continue to provide funds for family health services to other providers.

The bill’s next stop will be to the House, for consideration.

The bill is sponsored Finance Chairman Sen. Joey Fillingane, R-Petal.
