5K postponed for 3-year-old battling cancer due to severe weather threat

MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) — A 5K honoring a 3-year-old fighting leukemia is being postponed due the threat of severe weather.

The Paul LaCoste Sports 5K  benefiting Ryan LaSource was originally set for Thursday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the Capitol.

It’s now being rescheduled for Thursday, April 7. Prayer will be held at 5:30 that night. The race is set to start at 6 p.m.

Little Ryan is battling his fourth occurrence of Leukemia. This week, he is expected to receive a second bone marrow transplant from a hospital in North Carolina. Donations at the race will go directly to Ryan’s family to help with medical expenses.
