Man shoots alleged car thief, both face charges

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The victim of a Monday night shooting is now facing charges.

Milton Grant, 35, was shot several times Monday night at the Shell Food Mart on the 1100 block of Terry Road according to Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department.

Grant is facing an auto theft charge.

JPD learned Grant allegedly stole a black Acura from a gas station in North Jackson prior to being shot.

The owner of the black Acura, Christopher White, 22, later noticed his vehicle at the Shell Food Mart and fired several shots at Grant.

White took his car back and fled the area. He later surrendered at JPD Headquarters.

White is charged with one count of aggravated assault. He is currently in custody and is awaiting his first court appearance.

Grant is still listed in critical condition at this time.
