WJTV – Southern Miss third baseman Taylor Braley had surgery on Tuesday morning to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will miss an undisclosed period of time.
Rick Cleveland first reported the news.
Golden Eagle manager Scott Berry said he has not been given a timetable for Braley’s return. Berry added Tracy Hadley will take over at third base as well as hit in Braley’s spot in the lineup, where he batted fourth.
The sophomore suffered the injury fielding a ball during a 9-1 win against Charlotte on April 2.
Braley leads Southern Miss with 10 home runs this season. He’s also posted a .323 batting average with 31 RBI and a .688 slugging percentage.
