JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The lawyer suing Governor Phil Bryant will face a judge Tuesday, April 12, 2016, in his effort to remove the Mississippi state flag from public grounds.
Carlos Moore filed the lawsuit against Governor Bryant on February 29, 2016, The last day of black history month.
“I would love to see the flag come down not just for myself but for my 5-year-old daughter. We are hoping she does not live in a state for the majority of her life that has such an offensive flag,” said Moore.
The lawsuit questions whether or not the flag is constitutional.
Moore says ever since he filed the lawsuit he’s received death threats.
He claims he’s had to hire full-time security for his family.
