Gas station fire intentionally set; Surveillance shows person walking near store before flames sparked

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — An investigation reveals that a fire at a Jackson gas station was intentionally set.

A nearby store released surveillance video from their cameras, which captured the moments just before the fire broke out.

The video shows someone walking in the distance around the store before the fire started. Moments later, the flames started growing.

The fire ripped through the Exxon gas station on McDowell Road Tuesday morning around 5:30 a.m.

The entrance of the store collapsed during the fire.

Investigators have not determined exactly how the fire was started. Samples have been sent to a lab for testing.
