JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The two men charged in last month’s double homicide investigation appeared in court Monday.
A judge denied bond for both Joshua Dukes and Anthony Harris. They are both charged with two counts of capital murder.
Harris surrendered to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Dukes was captured back in March on McDowell Circle.
On March 5 around 6:15 p.m., Daniel Gomez and Eli Nunez were shot after being robbed on Westhaven Boulevard. They were taken to the hospital where they both died. A dog was also shot and killed during the robbery.
Dukes is also being charged in the murder investigation of an 85-year-old man. James Hankins was shot in the head in his yard on McCluer Road February 13. Jackson Police connected Dukes to this crime last week.
Dukes appeared in court Monday only for the Westhaven Boulevard charges.
Charges are still pending against him for the death of Hankins.
