CANTON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Memphis man arrested in Canton after a manhunt will appear in court Wednesday.
Madison County officials notified Canton PD that they were looking for Hadden in connection with a Tennessee kidnapping and assault investigation.
Authorities said an officer spotted the suspect at a truck stop and was injured trying to take him into custody.
Around 3:45 a.m., Hadden was spotted at the Loves Truck Stop. Police said the officer approached him, and they got into a scuffle. Officer James Jackson received a broken leg, and Hadden got away.
At 4 p.m., Hadden was spotted at the gas station across the street from the Loves. He surrendered to police when they came to the scene.
Police said they were taking him to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department when he kicked out a window in an SUV and jumped out. He started running down Nissan Parkway in his handcuffs; he was arrested again.
He’s being charged with obstruction on city property, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.
He is being held in the Madison County Jail.
