Man accused of taking pictures of Senator Cochran’s wife out on parole

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The man accused of taking photos of Senator Thad Cochran’s wife inside a nursing home is out on parole.

Clayton Kelly pleaded guilty to conspiracy in 2015 and was sentenced to two and a half years behind bars.

He was paroled in March.

Authorities say Kelly walked into Rose Cochran’s nursing home room at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison and took pictures of her in the spring of 2014.

Investigators have said he and other conspirators wanted to use the pictures to advance allegations that Senator Cochran was having an affair.

Senator Cochran has denied those allegations.

Senator Cochran’s wife died in December 2014.
