Early dismissal for Terry High School due to city water outage

UPDATE: Hinds County school officials said water has been restored throughout the city. Terry High will be open Friday, May 6. A boil water advisory is still in effect.

John Neal of the Hinds County School District said the school will use bottled water for drinking until further notice.


HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — Terry High School will dismiss early on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Students will be released at 9:15 a.m. due to a water outage. John Neal of the Hinds County School District said city officials notified them that there’s a water outage occurring that is affecting the school.

City officials don’t expect water service to be restored until later.

Due to the outage, students will be dismissed at 9:15 a.m.

Students are under state testing. Neal said testing that was scheduled for Thursday will be rescheduled for Friday May 6.
