JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson police officers said the man wanted in connection to a kidnapping is in custody.

Authorities said Freddie McField was taken into custody Thursday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He’s charged with two counts of kidnapping.

A family member of the victims said a 17-year-old and her 6-year-old brother were kidnapped from a gas station on Thousand Oaks Drive Wednesday morning. Police said a man got into her car and held her at gunpoint as he forced her to drive him to another location.

The suspect got out of the car and the two victims left that scene and called the police.
