ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, Louisiana (WJTV) –LaPlace, Louisiana detectives are warning residents about snacks laced with pot.
The packaging is branded similar to snacks you would see on the shelves in stores.
The sheriff’s department posted on their Facebook page a photo of some of the items.
Instead of Cheetos, the snacks said Weetos. They also found packages labeled Cannamon Toast Crunch, and Froot Poofs.
Detectives said they initially thought they were normal bags of snacks until they looked closer at the labels. A drug test determined that the snacks included THC, the chemical compound in marijuana. There was also a warning on the back of the snacks that said “keep out of reach of children.”
