Low water pressure from nearby water main break affecting event at Mississippi Coliseum

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A water main break close to the Mississippi Coliseum is causing low water pressure  in that area.

On Thursday, a semi truck got stuck in a water main break on Larson Street.

City officials said they are aware of the leak and crews hope to have it fixed by Thursday evening.

The All American Youth Barrel Race is underway at the Fairgrounds. Organizers said they lost a huge amount of water pressure. Some are panicked by the shortage because there are about 900 horses there and approximately 3,000 people.

A city spokesperson says crews are moving quickly to repair the leak and limit the impact on businesses in the area.
