Richland Police chase man after fleeing from vehicle

SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Richland Police Department just ended a chase with a man in Simpson County.

The chase ended near Highway 49 near Speights Road.

Authorities chased a male suspect who failed to stop for police.

The suspect got out of his car and ran into the woods.

That’s when a K-9 officer, Rico, was able to track him down.

No officers were injured were injured in the chase, however, the suspect was bitten by the K-9 officer.

We don’t know the name of the suspect at this time.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the search.
