25-year-old male shot in the face in North Jackson


Rocky Burke, 49, has been charged with aggravated assault for shooting a 25-year-old male in the face on Father’s Day.

Burke and the victim, his stepson, got into a “physical altercation” inside a home on Springridge Drive according to a press release by the Jackson Police Department.

Burke picked up a gun and shot his stepson once in the face and later fled the scene.

Burke was picked up later at County Line Road and Pear Orchard Street.

JPD also found the gun believed to be used in a nearby dumpster.

Burke is currently in the city jail awaiting his first court appearance.

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department is on the scene of shooting in North Jackson.

The shooting took place along the 1900 block of Springridge Drive.

A 25-year-old male was shot in the face according to The Jackson Police Department’s Twitter page.

He has been transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

JPD does have a suspect in custody.
