Body of missing teenager found at D’Lo Water Park

UPDATE: A Simpson County deputy said the body of a missing man has been found.

We’re told his body was recovered around 4:00 Thursday morning.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim at this time.

MENDENHALL, Miss. (WJTV) – Multiple agencies are looking for man who went missing at D’Lo Water Park Wednesday evening.

A call was around 7:00 p.m. about a person drowning according to Sheriff Donald O’Cain.

The victim is an 18-year-old white male.

It happened along the Strong River.

Sheriff O’Cain says the victim went out and under a deep hole in the river.

He also says they are waiting to notify next of kin before releasing his name.

The Smith County Dive team is currently in the water searching for the victim.

The Mendenhall Fire Department and Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries and Parks were also called in to assist.
