University of Connecticut trustees vote to revoke Cosby’s honorary degree

STORRS, Conn. (WTNH)– The University of Connecticut has revoked Bill Cosby’shonorary degree.

The Board of Trustees voted Wednesday morning to revoke Cosby’s degree unanimously after allegations of sexual misconduct.

During the meeting, each board member explained why they support the decision.

Students also took to the podium to explain why they believe Cosby doesn’t deserve the honor.

The 78-year-od comedian and actor was awarded the degree in 1996. The university says it’s the first time it has revoked an honorary degree.

This follows allegations of sexual misconduct after several women accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting them. The actor has denied these allegations.
