JPS pushing students to eat healthy during summer months

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Now that school is out, Jackson Public Schools is pushing healthy summer eating habits for children through its Summer Feeding Program.

An event was held Thursday at McWillie Elementary.

JPS officials want to raise awareness and continue encouraging students to eat nutritious meals during the summer months.

Students got the chance to play games, do fitness activities and eat nutritious foods at the event.
