JACKSON, Tenn. (WJTV) – The Atlanta Braves’ middle infield duo of the future didn’t waste time giving Brave fans an early glimpse at its potential.
On Thursday night, top prospects Ozzie Albies and Dansby Swanson combined to go 7 for 10 to help lead the Mississippi Braves to a 6-5 win over the Jackson Generals in 10 innings. This was their first night together, with Swanson at shortstop and Albies at second base.
Willians Astudillo kept the game alive with a game-tying solo home run in the top of the ninth to even things up at five. Jacob Schrader singled in Dustin Peterson in the top of the 10th to give the M-Braves the lead and eventually the win.
