JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Criminal Justice Reform Task Force held a final meeting Thursday for Tier One of the project.
The task force has been investigating the current criminal justice system in Jackson and Hinds County. They are coming up with recommendations for improvement of the system.
Some of the proposed recommendations mentioned were about engaging more of the community to strengthen family dynamics. Other recommendations included creating a database that can be used to identify predictors of crime, creating a mental health taskforce, and compiling a list of repeat offenders.
