HERNANDO, Miss. (WJTV) — The man accused of killing a Panola County teen pleaded not guilty in court Friday morning, according to CBS affiliate WREG.
Quinton Tellis is charged with the burning death of 19-year-old Jessica Chambers.
Chambers was burned alive in rural Panola County in December 2014. She died from her injuries in the hospital.
Tellis is being held at the DeSoto Couty jail.
He was extradited from Louisiana to Mississippi after he pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a credit card that belonged to a deceased University of Louisiana at Monroe student.
Since then, papers were filed by Monroe Police in Louisiana charging Tellis with first-degree murder in the 2015 death Meing-Chen Hsiao. Hsiao was a foreign exchange student who attended ULM.
