WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — A man in Bovina wants trains to stop blowing their horns when they roll through town.
Greg Gipson said every day at least 20 trains rumble through the area, and they blow their horns when they pass by Bovina.
He claims the constant noise disrupts the peace and quiet in Bovina. He is pushing for a quiet zone to be enforced.
He wants the Board of Supervisors to do something about it.
“Since it’s not a quiet zone they are required to blow the horn and if it is a quiet zone they are not required,” he said. “If we made it a quiet zone, what you just heard all you would hear is the cars rumbling on the track.”
We’re told the county was looking into creating a quiet zone but didn’t have enough information to move forward, so the project is on hold.
