RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — The person of interest that was being questioned in connection with the death of a Florence woman has now been arrested on unrelated charges.
Rankin County Undersheriff Raymond Duke said the person of interest, who has not been named, is in custody on unrelated charges.
Kimberly Schraeder was found dead in her home Wednesday. Investigators said she died from a traumatic head injury.
Investigators have now determined that money and jewelry were missing from her home. Authorities said with that development, the case could be prosecuted as capital murder.
A search warrant has been issued for the home of the person who is in custody on unrelated charges. They have also seized two vehicles.
