WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Warren County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shooting Sunday morning around 2:15 at the Kangaroo Express near the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 80.
It happened right outside Vicksburg city limits.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says, a large crowd gathered at the convenience store parking lot after leaving local bars in Vicksburg.
Officials believe argument started, and someone started shooting.
Four people were shot. Only one person was transported by ambulance to River Region Medical Center. The other victims were taken there in a private vehicle.
All four were subsequently transported to UMMC.
All victims were adult males ranging in age from 20 to 27 years old.
The Sheriff’s Department is currently looking for more than one shooter.
Sheriff Pace says the parking lot has seen violence before.
That’s why he has beefed up patrols in the late night, early morning hours.
Sheriff pPace says because the gas station is private property, his department can’t form a regulation on how many or what time people can gather in the parking lot.
WJTV has reached out to the Kangaroo Express division office earlier today for comment on the place being a popular hangout.
