JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center is bringing awareness to community health.
National Health Center Week is from Monday through Saturday.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jasmin Chapman talked to WJTV about what health centers do. Centers across the country will be hosting activities this week. Jackson-Hinds is asking people to bring their children in for immunizations.
They will also be talking about diabetic prevention and other preventative health.
“A community health center is a safety net for the poor and uninsured,” she said. “We do a lot of preventative work, and so today is the start of a lot of activity.
