Marcus Baldridge

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The man accused of running from police during a traffic stop and leaving a 2-year-old behind appeared in court Wednesday.

A judge set bond for Marcus Baldridge at $200,000.

Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Lakeland Drive near Bonsai Tuesday afternoon. JPD said the 33-year-old got out of the car, tossed some drugs, and took off running. A toddler was left inside the car that Baldridge was driving.

He was caught and charged with possession of meth and marijuana, violation of a traffic stop, and possible child endangerment.

The 2-year-old, who police say is Baldridge’s cousin, was returned to his father.
