STARKVILLE, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippi State’s four-man quarterback competition has been cut down to three.
Sophomore Elijah Staley tweeted on Friday that he has been granted his release to transfer from the school.
In 2015, Staley attempted just five passes while completing three of them. He did throw one touchdown. This means the Bulldog quarterback competition is down to Damian Williams, Nick Fitzgerald, and Nick Tiano.
Dan Mullen issued a statement on Friday addressing Staley’s transfer, wishing him the best of luck.
“We would like to thank Elijah for his contributions to our football team,” Mullen said. “During his time here, he has always been a hard worker and a great teammate. We wish him nothing but the best as he pursues another opportunity.”
