Floodwaters cover roadways in parts of South Mississippi

(WJTV) — Heavy rain caused flooding in several Missisippi Counties Friday.

Three people had to be rescued from high waters in Amite County on Highway 569. WJTV’s Malary Pullen talks to a resident who says he might have to evacuate.

There was also damage to Perry Road in the Damascus Community in Perry County.

In Copiah County, water covered Monticello Road. One person also had to be rescued from her car. Beth Alexander talked to emergency officials about the conditions.

In the metro area, a Jackson Public Schools bus got stuck in a ditch.

Flooding also affected parts of Centreville, Miss.
