JPD: Store clerk arrested for assaulting man inside convenience store

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Police arrested a store clerk after they said he assaulted a man at the gas station where he worked.

Jackson Police went to a convenience store on Ellis Avenue around 3:43 a.m.

They said the 50-year-old victim and the 19-year-old store clerk, Hamond Alshariki, got into an argument in the store. They said when the man was leaving, the clerk came from behind the counter and hit the man in the head with a stick.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for multiple lacerations. At last check, he was in stable condition.
