JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson man who went to help his family in Louisiana got stranded on the interstate due to flooding.
Ken Crotwell said he left Jackson Friday to help his parents who live in Louisiana prepare for the storm that was heading their way. He helped them move their things to the second story, but within hours, they had to evacuate and move to his sister’s house.
He said as he was trying to head back to Jackson Saturday, he was stuck on Interstate 12 for 27 hours.
“As the evening turned to night, the night was pretty long because at this point, the water was just going across the interstate and it’s like white water rapids,” he said.
Sunday, he said people came and brought grills, charcoal and meant to the interstate and fed those stranded.
