JPD Officer placed on desk duty after “questionable” video surfaces

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department’s Chief of Police says he’s disturbed by the contents of a video that appears to show an officer speaking to a girl from his patrol car.

That video is now making the rounds on Facebook.

The video shows a police officer speaking to a young woman asking her if she wants to go to a room.

No word on what led up to this conversation.

JPD says Officer Darryl Stasher has been taken off of police duties and assigned to administrative duties.

This means he doesn’t have a gun, badge or patrol car.

Once the investigation is complete, Chief Vance will determine the necessary discipline for Officer Stasher.

JPD says this doesn’t reflect on the other actions of Jackson Police officers.
