More than 400 stolen cartons of cigarettes recovered; 3 arrested

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) –Three people are arrested after Hinds County deputies said they found more than 400 stolen cartons of cigarettes.

The cigarettes were valued at about $10,000, authorities said.

Deputies arrested Corbin Deshawn Edwards, Dacca Antonio Killingsworth, and Dawitt Isaac.

Edwards and Killingsworth were charged with embezzlement. Deputies said the cigarettes were stolen off a truck parked a the Petro Stopping Center on I-20 West Frontage Road.

Authorities said Edwards and Killingsworth were driving away from the stopping center with about 330 stolen cartons of cigarettes and were taken into custody.

Deputies said Isaac owns the Citgo Mini Mart on Cooper Road in Jackson. They said he was charged with receiving stolen goods and possession of a stolen firearm.

Officials also recovered another 90 cartons of cigarettes and a stolen gun.
