Prayer vigil held for Mississippi couples who died in Alabama plane crash

OXFORD, Miss. (WJTV) – Crowds of people at Ole Miss gathered to remember the three Oxford couples who died after their plane crashed in Alabama.

The prayer vigil drew families with children, former patients, friends and co-workers.

Dentists Dr. Michael Perry, his wife Kim, Dr. Lea and Jason Farese and Dr. Austin Poole and his wife Angie, were on the private plane that crashed near the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport this past Sunday.

“We’ve come together and helped each other. These kids need it. They’re going to be growing up fast now and we have to be there for them and help them,” said Chancellor Jeffrey Vitter of the University Of Mississippi.

The couples were returning home to Mississippi from a dental convention in Florida.
