JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber says the allegations in a sexual harassment lawsuit pending against him are not true.
WJTV got the chance to talk with Yarber briefly Friday morning.
Yarber told WJTV’s Malary Pullen that everything mentioned in the complaint is false.
The Mayor’s former executive assistant, Kimberly Bracey, filed a lawsuit Thursday alleging that she had been subjected to sexual harassment and sex discrimination while she worked for him. The complaint states that Bracey had an affair with Yarber and tried to end it. It also mentioned that she was forced to keep having a sexual relationship with Yarber to keep employment.
Yarber said Bracey’s comments are not true and he plans to use everything he can to fight the accusations.
A summons was issued by the courts to Yarber. He has 21 days to respond to Bracey’s allegations.
