RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — Rankin County deputies are headed to Louisiana to drop off donations at an animal shelter.
The deputies will stop in Walker, Louisiana.
They started collecting items last week after seeing the need for supplies due to flooding damage.
They were able to get more than 14,000 pounds of dog and cat food. They’ve also collected other pet supplies.
“We are here to help, and our neighbors are in a bind, so that is what we are going to do. Send some stuff down there to help,” said Rankin County Deputy Justin Flanagan.
