Search continues for missing driver in Vicksburg, Mississippi

Sheriff says gator season begins at noon, asks anyone who sees something in the water to call police immediately

The search continues this morning for Michael Collins, the driver whose truck went into the river off of Warrentown Road in Vicksburg on Tuesday.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says there will be more people on the river today because gator season begins at noon.  He is urging anyone who sees anything that may be important to the search effort to call police immediately.

Crews were back in the morning at approximately six o’clock this morning.  Warren County Sheriff’s deputies are being assisted by several law enforcement agencies including the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The MHP and Warren County Sheriff’s office conducted a helicopter search yesterday.  A private citizen is expected to take his plane up this morning.  Sheriff Pace is expected to ride with him.
