JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A Jackson home goes up in flames Friday morning, and neighbors are worried after a series of fires on the same street.
Friday morning a fire broke out at a vacant house on Lanier Avenue.
Neighbors said this is not the first time they’ve seen a home on fire on Lanier.
“All the houses getting burned up,” said one neighbor. “We’ve had about three or four fires on the street. After a while, we not going to have no houses.”
Jackson Fire Department said so far this year, there have been five fires on this street.
Neighbors say they aren’t sure how these homes keep catching on fire, but it’s a concern for them.
“We homeowners, we are scared to stay in our own houses. We are scared somebody will set our house on fire.”
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire from Friday.
