JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The attorney who sued Gov. Phil Bryant in an effort to remove the Confederate emblem from the Mississippi flag has filed an appeal in the case.
Last week Judge Carlton Reeves dismissed the lawsuit.
Carlos Moore filed the appeal Wednesday.
Judge Reeves said Moore failed to show a “cognizable legal injury.”
Moore argued that the flag is an unconstitutional vestige of slavery that creates a hostile environment for him and other African-Americans.
