UPDATE: The jury has found Gerome Moore guilty of capital murder. He will be sentenced on November 2.
JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Prosecutors and defense attorneys have rest their case in Gerome Moore’s trial.
He’s accused of killing Carolyn Temple in 2015.
Jury selection began Monday for the trial. On Wednesday, the state decided to rest its case after hearing from two witnesses. Moore, the defendant, did not testify.
Both sides received 30 minutes for closing arguments.
Temple was killed last year in the driveway of her friend’s Belhaven home. Authorities said two men approached her and shot her during a robbery. She died a few days later at the hospital.
Since Moore’s arrest, he is accused of breaking out of jail twice.
