JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Although the City of Jackson is having to make closures because of budget cuts, the Fannie Lou Hamer Library will remain open.
WJTV was initially told that the library that is located on Albermarle Road would close at the end of the month, but a Hinds County Supervisor said that would require approval from the county board.
“As far as I can tell you at this particular point, the Hinds County Board of Supervisors will not vote, said Supervisor Robert Graham. “I’m speaking for myself at this particular point, but I’ve also talked with other board members, and they are not going to vote to close the Fannie Lou Hamer Library.
Graham said the closure should have never been an option in the first place.
