JACKSON, Miss. – Hinds County Sheriff deputies are welcoming travelers to the Capital City by adding bike patrol.
The deputies are adding this bike-patrol to downtown Jackson as a proactive measure to curb crime.
They are in brown and now their easier to spot, Hinds County Sheriff’s deputies patrolling downtown Jackson on foot and pedal by pedal.
“We just need a lot more security here, because there are something’s that people just don’t see,” JTRAN Passenger, Deon Fields explained.
Visibility is behind the county’s latest effort to cut crime in the capital city.
“We thought about it when people catch the train or the bus they come here when people from out of state get off the train, they get off here–we want them to feel safe,” Hinds County Sheriff, Victor Mason said.
