Police Chief: Clown with sword spotted in Tchula

TCHULA, Miss. (WJTV) — Tchula Police Chief Kenneth Hampton is making it known that he has zero tolerance for anyone who wants to wear a clown costume and scare people around town.

WJTV talked to Hampton on Thursday. He said he spotted someone dressed up as a clown recently.

Hampton made a post on the police department’s Facebook page, asking whoever it was to stop.

There have been clown sightings in other cities across the country.

Police in west Georgia said they’ve received several calls about clowns trying to talk to children and are investigating an online threat to abduct children from local schools.

South Carolina law enforcement officers increased patrols in one city after they received reports of people dressed as clowns trying to lure children into the woods.

Someone started a Facebook page for the Green Bay, Wisconsin clown.
