RICHLAND, Miss. (WJTV) — Police conducted an undercover operation to buy crack cocaine from a man in Richland.
Richland officers of the FLEX unit said they bought about $200 worth of crack from 36-year-old Edfernando Rucker. After the purchase, Rucker took off from the officers. Police said K-9 Rico also helped with the bust. Rico found Rucker in the wooded area off of Highway 49.
They also found more drugs and scales in Rucker’s car. Rucker had to be taken to the hospital after he was caught to be treated for injuries. He was released from the hospital and taken to the Rankin County Jail.
He is charged with the sale of cocaine within 1500 feet of a church, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest. Officers said Rucker had a criminal history for narcotics and firearm related offenses.
