JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A trooper injured in a crash last month is still taking steps towards recovery.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry said Trooper Mitchell Chappell had been moved to Select Specialty Hospital for aggressive physical therapy.
Trooper Chappell was injured on September 11 when he was on his way to a scene of an accident in Bogue Chitto. His car hydroplaned and hit a tree on I-55. He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center
A second trooper and third trooper crashed as well. Both were on the way to help Chappell out. According to officials, the other two troopers were not seriously injured.
A donations account has been set up in Trooper Mitchell Chappell’s name at Region’s Bank.
