CLEARED: 18-wheeler accident on I-20 eastbound Edwards Exit 19

UPDATE: 10/06/2016 11:32am This incident has been cleared.

UPDATE: 10/06/2016 10:41am Traffic delays are now estimated at approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

UPDATE: 10/06/2016 7:59am MDOT has upgraded delays to approximately two hours as the truck is being uprighted and removed from the scene.

UPDATE: 10/06/2016 6:03am Crews are still working to remove the trailer from the ditch.  WJTV is told that the driver of the truck is doing ok.

Original Story:

JACKSON, Mississippi (WJTV) – No serious injuries are being reported following a tractor trailer accident on I-20 eastbound near mile marker 19 in Hinds County.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) reports possible delays of up to one hour and 30 minutes along I-20 eastbound before MS 22 near Flora, Edwards, Exit 19 near mile marker 19.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is waiting for a wrecker to pull the 18-wheeler out of the ditch.

MHP’s Corporal Eric Henry tells WJTV that no load was spilled when the driver of an 18-wheeler allegedly ran off the roadway.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.  Delays are reported as crews work to clear the scene.
